COOLEST ROCK EVER
At National Center West, you could choose from a long list of various activities and sessions. One activity that I participated in was a hike to a river. Unfortunately at the time, I had one of those cheap Kodak 110 cameras that took horrible pictures at the time that look even worse now. I’ll scan some in from time to time, but just know that there’s really not a lot that I can share.
Anyway, at some point I remember thinking that it would be neat if I collected a rock from Wyoming as a souvenir. I guess I broke a Leave No Trace rule. ::hangs head in shame:: So during the hike, I randomly picked up a dusty rock and stuck it in my backpack. Here’s an idea of what it looked like when I first picked it up:
So at some point, I washed the caked mud and dirt from this rock. AND IT TURNED INTO THE COOLEST AND NEATEST ROCK I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. I about flipped out. Check this out:
If you’re wondering, yes, I got an A in both Geology 101 and 102 at UGA.
And after all these years, you know what? I STILL THINK IT IS THE COOLEST AND NEATEST ROCK I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE.
I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but it doesn’t take much to entertain me. 🙂
Later on, I will tell you all about what else you can find in a rock shop.
