Camp Mary Elizabeth’s Cabin
Did you know there’s a historical cabin located at Camp Mary Elizabeth? Not many people do!
Little is known about it since it was first discovered back in 1992. According to articles from the Spartanburg Herald Journal, it was uncovered when the building that housed it was condemned. Thankfully, the owners of the property contacted the Spartanburg County Historical Society who then got in touch with what was known as the Piedmont Area Council at the time to see if they would be interested in hosting the cabin.
Here’s an article from the Herald-Journal in 1992 about the discovery of the cabin:

This cabin has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it tends to be overlooked and forgotten. Maybe this will change though, and some colonial era programming can be based around it (hint, hint, Da-nice & Council). It deserves some love.
The cabin shows up at 1:05 in this video about Camp Mary Elizabeth:
Amazing!
What a wonderful story and great resource! ::::sharing:::: YES to having Colonial Era programming! I’ll bet the council and girls could give tours as a fundraiser too maybe. I’m glad you are getting the word out about this!
