A Moment of Silence, Please
Today I came across the 2018 GSUSA catalog, and before opening it, I felt a disturbance in the Girl Scout Force. As if millions of navy blue uniforms suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened. And it has.
The Polka Dot OFFICIAL scarf has apparently been discontinued and is no longer available.
The brand new Folk Art OFFICIAL scarf is colorful (and expensive at $48!), but it’s not the same. Plus it doesn’t seem to have anything Girl Scouts related on it from what I can tell. Then there’s the Retired Badge OFFICIAL scarf that’s been around for a few years. I own one, but it doesn’t really do much for me. But it’s a good stand-in OFFICIAL scarf if you need one as a backup. The pinch hitter of OFFICIAL scarves, if you will.
But there is something coming to my home via ebay very soon, and that is a 1968 1971 OFFICIAL scarf! Yeah, baby, yeah! Groovy! As designed by Stella Stoat! I don’t know who that is, but what I do know is that I will look FABULOUS in this retro OFFICIAL scarf at our annual meeting in November.
But don’t worry, it will never replace the Polka Dot OFFICIAL scarf in my wardrobe or my heart. The Polka Dot OFFICIAL scarf will always be my OFFICIAL go-to OFFICIAL scarf for special occasions.
Polka Dot OFFICIAL scarf, we hardly knew ye.
P.S. The Polka Dot OFFICIAL scarf will always live on as one of my swaps!
RIP, Ye Olde Polka Dotted piece!
I have one! And hope to wear it again. Love the polka dot scarf! And the Swap you made… adding: your Retro scarf is pretty cool too. I like the colors, and the design, and the fact that the GS Green is on there too.
