Happy 107th Birthday Girl Scouts!

Random Things That Don't Fit Anywhere Else Kinda Like Me    3 Comments    ,

I almost let this day go by because I am in the middle of putting something special together, but I thought it was a sacrilege if I didn’t acknowledge today’s special day.  My goal was to finish it by today as a birthday present to you, the reader, but it has been a stressful cookie season (and it’s still not over 😥 ).  So I’m not sure when it will be completed, but my hope is soon.

Instead, I leave you with a random picture of early Girl Scouts and J-Low looking very happy and proud in her GS uniform.  Sometimes I like to look at a picture and guess what the person was thinking at the time based on her facial expression.

1st girl (from left):  Whew, got here just in time.  Almost forgot my OFFICIAL tie.  It’s crooked, but at least it’s on.  Are my feet supposed to be together?
2nd girl (from left):  It is soooooooooooooooooooooooo hot out here.  And Sophie’s tie is crooked.  Again.
3rd girl (in the back row):  I hope my face doesn’t get covered up in the picture.
4th girl (front and center):  OMG J-LOW IS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO ME!!!  I hope I don’t screw up!!!!
5th girl (in the back):  They said not to smile while saluting the flag, but I’m gonna do it anyway.  Wheee!
6th girl (in the back):  Sigh, why do *I* have to be the one to hold the flag up like it’s waving in the wind?   My arm is about to FALL OFF.
J-Low:  I love this.

Happy 107th Birthday, Girl Scouts!  You don’t look a day over 29!

Great photo! J. Low – “I feel something – is there a breeze or did a bird just poop on the brim of my hat?”

What a fun way to look at the picture!!! Thank you for a special happy birthday to all of us G.S. out here. I’m celebrating 50 years in G.S.!!! (No, I’m not crazy or senile!!!) For 46 consecutive years I have had a troop, still do, and hope to continue on for a few more years of enjoying the girls and our adventures!
