Last GSG Town Hall Before the National Council Session

National Governance    2 Comments    ,

We’ve had three great meetings in our GirlScoutGovernance.com Town Halls – and even had some unwelcome excitement when a group of hackers broke into our last one.  We were able to regroup though and continue the conversation.  No word if it was a troop doing some Take Action projects for their Cybersecurity badges.

But we’re holding ONE more so don’t miss it!  Here’s the press release:

GirlScoutGovernance.com will be hosting one last Town Hall on Monday, Oct 19th at 8:30pm EDT! This Town Hall will give you the opportunity to share your thoughts about any of the six proposals on the agenda for the National Council Session in a reasonably open, unstructured format. It’s also your last chance to “check in” with Girl Scouts from other councils and hear their questions, concerns, and opinions prior to the actual National Council Session debates. You do not have to have attended any of the previous three Town Halls to participate.

See you there!

I would expect we have some talented GIRLS that COULD have done that hack. Go Girls! I don’t think they WOULD though but if they could and would, I think they would have used other messaging though… instead of Shut Up Shut Up, they would have started “Make New Friends….” and we would have see some trefoils and cookies drawn on the white board and pictures of camps to save instead of well, starts with P.

All fun and games aside, these zoom meetings have been well attended, well structured, and offered a forum for Q&A and for delegates (CEOs too), alternates, and interested grass roots members to engage. A huge thank you to GSGov for making it happen and all of that team’s efforts to educate our delegates and members about our organizational governance, and rights.

Time to shake up the power grab and demand we have trust and true servant leadership at all levels of the GSUSA board and council boards. Let’s get back to basics. SERVE the membership, let the membership lead the organization. Delegates, do JGL proud as this GSGov team has!!!

It certainly was quite a shock when that hacker got in and quite frankly, it freaked me out & quickly left the meeting. Glad to see it was restarted shortly after that But I do appreciate all the hard work from everyone to do what’s best for the membership.
