Updated Badge, Journey, and Award Summaries for 2023-24

You can tell it’s a new year, because I’m publishing updated Badge, Journey, and Award Summaries!

I’ve been asked why I publish these since they similar to GSUSA’s Badge Explorer. My summaries streamline the design and therefore save paper since I can fit more badge summaries onto one sheet of paper. I also include awards (and their requirements) that aren’t included in the Badge Explorer (especially older girl awards).  They are kind of a cross between Badge Explorer’s printouts and the Handbook.

The update for 2023-24 includes the following:

  • Retired badges  have been removed:
    • Brownie Inventor
    • Brownie Painter
    • Brownie Potter
    • Junior Drawing
    • Junior Jeweler
    • Junior Product Designer
    • Cadette Entrepreneur
    • Senior Social Innovator
  • Global Action and World Thinking Day Awards links have been updated
  • WTD Award design updated to 2024 version
  • Bridging requirements wording updated to better reflect shift away from Journeys
  • New badges added:
    • Daisy Animal Observer
    • D/B/J for Art & Design
    • D/B/J for Craft & Tinker
    • D/B/J for Create & Innovate

    C/S/A Community Service Bar does NOT require Council approval everywhere. Our council didn’t even include them in website until our Service Unit started asking questions about the bars.

    Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for these summary files! I usually try to create PDFs from the Badge Explorer, but you have made it so easy and compressed so I don’t have to print nearly as many pages (especially this with with a multi-level troop!). This will make our meeting today so much easier to prep for.
