The Calm Before the Storm
There are only a few days left until we leave for the National Convention, and I’m starting to kinda sorta get ready. I’ve made all of my swaps. I’m not quite to 300, but I will have three different kinds plus two limited editions. I have 97 of the OFFICIAL scarf swaps, 150 something of my cat comic swap, and 40 something of swaps from my daughter’s Destination from this past August. So catch me early if you want an OFFICIAL scarf swap and bring a good one to trade!
I also have a handful of these for any Georgia Bulldog fans (Vols, Gators, Yellow Jackets, and Tigers need not apply) and another one for
members of the National Board fans of governance:
Plus I am an avid patch collector, so I am bringing 30 of my council’s patch to trade for other council patches!
Since I’m an alternate, I will not be able to participate in any of the delegate-only events like the reception on Wednesday night, so you won’t see me there. I’ll be in the guest section aka peanut gallery watching what all will go down with much interest. And yes, I’ll be taking notes. How will you know who I am? Just look for the one in navy and wearing an OFFICIAL scarf. I’ll have an entourage surrounding me too, at least until the session is over.
If you’re still not sure what all the fuss is about when it comes to the proposals and what to expect from the session, or if you’re a delegate and you’re undecided, check out this excellent website. It does a great job of summing up the proposals and gives valid rationales:
Well, I’d better get back to packing! Oh, what I am saying? I always procrastinate until the last minute. But for those of you who will be on the floor speaking and voting, may the odds be ever in your favor!
