Happy Holidays to all of my readers! I hope you have a very blessed 2023!

And now, here are some personal updates!

NATIONAL CONVENTION

I had a big change of heart and decided to go to the National Council Session and Convention (aka Phenom) this summer. It also helped that I got a job so I can afford it now. Plus I feel like it’s going to be a leeeetle more interesting than I originally thought. Or maybe not? There are many months to go and a lot can happen before then. Right? I guess we’ll have to see how things play out. 🙂

GSSC-MM NCS PROPOSAL

The Early Alert isn’t out yet so it’s not OFFICIAL, but our council was notified back in October that our proposal didn’t make the cut. However, a preliminary agenda was presented to CEO & Board Chairs at their November conference, and there was a lot of pushback, so supposedly GSUSA is going back to the drawing board (which is why the Early Alert hasn’t been released). I still don’t expect our proposal to make it though. But that’s okay, because eventually I realized what I was trying to go for with it wouldn’t be possible at a NCS, and it had some major faults. I ended up pulling a couple of earlier posts about it for that reason.  I know this sounds like sour grapes, but it’s true (even though I don’t like admitting it).

SWAPs

To prepare for the convention, I’ve gotten to work creating OFFICIAL Scarf and GSG SWAPs. I’m not making 1500 GSG ones again though. Maybe 300 GSG SWAPs and 100 OFFICIAL Scarf ones.  I plan on passing out the GSG ones like candy during the NCS.  My goal is to get a GSG SWAP hanging on every Nation’s Cap straw hat! I might even have a few Blue Book SWAPs for you governance nerds.

WHAT’S TO BE IN 2023?

Every once in a while, I get Eeyore-like about things, but I am looking forward to 2023! There are a lot of upcoming events and maybe some changes in my personal volunteer role. Hopefully it all turns out well. You never know what will happen in Girl Scouting!
